Saturday is forecast to bring a high chance of showers, mostly in the afternoon and evening, and these could continue on Sunday.
Showers are also expected across central Victoria.
“We’re going to see a trough approach western Victoria during Saturday and ahead of that, we’re going to see an area of widespread showers and possibly some thunderstorms develop,” Bureau of Meteorology senior meteorologist Tom Delamotte said.
However, Mr Delamotte said the areas that would see the most rain were those on and south of the ranges.
A strong cold front will move through on Sunday, with daytime temperatures expected to fall by about five degrees or so from Saturday.
