The Dragons set up a date with Strathdale-Maristians in the grand final after defeating Golden Square by one run in one of the great BDCA semi-finals on Sunday.
Skipper Craig Howard said the Dragons' ability to fight their way out of trouble had been a key ingredient in their success this season.
"We've been in situations where we've had to dig pretty deep in a few matches this season,'' Howard said.
"In this game at 5-100 on a pretty good batting wicket, we were in a little bit of trouble because we knew we needed a good score against their batting line-up.
"Ash (Gray) and Beardy (Taylor Beard) took the game away from Square a bit for a while and then we still probably ended up a bit short of where we could have finished.
"260 was always going to be a competitive total.... but when Square were 3-170 with plenty of overs left we had to dig deep to find a way to win.
"We managed to get the run rate up to the point it became a factor and we managed to cling on.
"Even in the last over when Square needed three runs off two balls the ball was in their court, but somehow we managed to get through.
"We've worked really hard, particularly over the last couple of years, to get to where we want to be.
"We're feeling confident on the back of our form this year."
The final ball victory on Sunday set off joyous scenes in the Sandhurst rooms at Weeroona Oval.
The Dragons' second XI also won their semi-final on Sunday.
"It was a terrific feeling around the club on Sunday night and it gave everyone a sense of what it could be like next week if we could win,'' Howard said.
"It's a great opportunity for the club and we're really excited about it.
"It's a big challenge because we're up against a club that has been there and done it."
