CFA fire investigators continue to look into the cause of the blaze, but it is not believed to be suspicious.
No one was home at the time.
The fire caused extensive damage to the property.
Firefighters were called to the property on the corner of McKenzie Street and Echuca Road at 10.45am Monday.
They arrived to find the house well-alight, and the fire was brought under control by 11.09am.
UPDATE 11.30am: Three CFA trucks from Rochester and Elmore attended a destructive house fire in Rochester this morning.
The CFA received the call to the property at 10.45am and found the house well-alight on arrival.
The fire was brought under control at 11.09am.
Police attended the scene for traffic control.
UPDATE 11.15am: Firefighters have brought the fire under control.
EARLIER, 11am: CFA crews are currently attending a house fire in Rochester.
The fire at McKenzie Street and Echuca Road is not yet under control.
Police have been asked to attend the scene for traffic control.
