The parade featured 44 groups including bands, schools, vintage cars and other community groups.
The festival’s Ros Elsworth branded the event a success, with positive feedback from everyone who she had talked to.
Ms Elsworth said one of the highlights was the SMACS Performing Arts Group’s float.
The group enlisted the help of CMS Dance Worx, LM Dance and Catherine McAuley College drama students for a float featuring more than 100 people.
“They had the most fabulous costumes,” Ms Elsworth said.
“They come every year, and every time they get bigger and better.”
Ms Elsworth said the secret to a good parade entry was the passion of those who took part.
She said students at schools that took part had spent time learning about the festival’s theme myths and legends.
“This year a few schools let their students decide what they wanted to dress up like,” Ms Elsworth said.
