Fire hoses were put to good use in several of today’s events at Weeroona Oval, as were hydrants, reels and pumpers.
CFA Chief Officer Steve Warrington said the championships promoted the core CFA values of teamwork, health, wellbeing and service.
“They also offer a unique simulation of the practical tasks all firefighters must perform,” he said.
“These championships are incredibly important to CFA culture and camaraderie.”
The championships attract about 3000 people each year.
Teams came from as far as Western Australia to compete.
Tomorrow is the final day of the competition.
