It is one of two fire fighting events to take place in coming days, with the Annual Victorian Urban Fire Brigades Championships beginning near Lake Weeroona on Saturday.
The Mandurang event was open to any rural brigade in Victoria.
The Manduurang brigade’s Graeme Pearce said Pearce Reserve would host 16 senior and 15 junior teams from across the state.
Mr Pearce said the event was a chance for fire fighters to see skills on display and get close to the action.
“We try to keep it fun. I’ve been involved in the event for nearly my whole life and I think if people aren’t happy they won’t come back,” he said.
“They will come back again if they are happy.”
