The fanfare will replace the traditional cue bells during March. Year 11 student Caitlin Buchan, wrote the fanfare Cleopatra’s Entrance last year as part of the national Fanfare Competition.
Since being announced as a finalist, Buchan has worked industry professionals to refine her work before the Australian Youth Orchestra recorded it.
Buchan’s fanfare (along with seven others) will also feature as a cue bell at the Perth Concert Hall, Adelaide Festival Centre, Queensland Performing Arts Centre and the Art Gallery Society NSW.
Buchan took a month to compose her 30-second Egyptian-themed fanfare.
