After shooting a one-under par 70 on day one, Martin combined five birdies with one bogey on Friday to be five-under par for the tournament and in a tie for 20th, eight shots behind leader Simon Hawkes.
Martin looked set to shoot one of the lowest rounds of the day when he opened up with four birdies in his first seven holes. He couldn’t maintain the momentum on the back nine.
Fellow Bendigo professional Kris Mueck missed the cut at even-par. Mueck fired back-to-back rounds of 71 to miss the cut by two shots.
