WITH more than 1000 entrants expected to grace the starting line in the Sanitarium Weet-Bix Kids TRYathlon, hopefuls are encouraged to act fast to secure their spot in the field.
Entries for the Bendigo-leg of the junior triathlon, to be staged at the Queen Elizabeth Oval on Sunday, March 4, close this Sunday.
The nation’s premier fitness event for kids aged seven to 15 is now in its 20th year.
Last year, almost 13,000 Australian children took part, with Bendigo one of the most popular of 10 events run around Australia.
Athletes will be split into two groups, with kids aged seven to 10 set for a 75m swim, 3km cycle and 500m run, with those aged 11 to 15 to tackle a 150m swim, 6km cycle and 1km run.
