The Labor MP was gifted a pair of five-game passes to see the Melbourne Renegades, as well as a membership lanyard and supporter’s scarf, by Cricket Victoria last year.
Ms. Edwards, who has represented Bendigo West since 2010, declared the gifts on the state parliament's register of members' interests, which was last updated in February.
Parliamentary rules in Victoria state that elected representatives must declare all gifts worth more than $500, except those received from relatives, as well as financial interests and sources of income.
The other member to accept Big Bash passes from the state cricket body was Melbourne-based MP Colin Brooks, who represents Bundoora. Upper house member Nazih Elasmar, who represents Melbourne's North Metropolitan Region, reported receiving two unspecified tickets for the 2017/2018 cricket season.
In a previous disclosure in September, Mark Gepp, who represents Bendigo as an upper house member for the Northern Victoria Region, declared a gift of an annual pass to the Melbourne Cricket Ground.
Ms. Edwards' spokesman Martyn Stradbrook said the MP had a general policy of not accepting gifts and had inadvertently received the passes in a bag handed out during a sports-related function at Parliament House.
"Maree was very keen to make sure that nothing is not registered as such, and so I actually had to go through and try to work out exactly what they were worth," Mr. Stradbrook said.
Mr. Stradbrook said the MP had not attended any of the games and the actual value of the passes was closer to $150, below the threshold for declaring gifts.
"They were just general admission tickets that you would get if you rocked up on the day," he said. "So they weren't corporate or anything like that. It was just general entry tickets she received. She didn't use them."
The Adelaide Strikers topped the Big Bash League for 2017-18, beating the Hobart Hurricanes by 25 runs in the February 4 final.
