Now in its seventh year, more than 6000 people attended the festival headlined by Liam and Neil Finn and Kasey Chambers.
Campaspe Shire Council mayor Adrian Weston said the festival was a great success with good weather across the three days.
“The event has increased in popularity over past years and I congratulate event organisers for growing the event,” he said.
“The Aquatic Reserve is a real drawcard in itself, a natural amphitheatre surrounded by majestic river red gums.
“Once again the festival had a strong line-up, with a variety of artists attracting people from all age groups, including families.”
Festival director David Frazer said it was the most successful Riverboats event they had put together.
“The atmosphere at the reserve was quite special. The artists adored it,” he said.
“Most were taking selfies with fans the next morning and cafes filled quickly on Sunday for brekky.”
Mr Frazer said Liam and Neil Finn were very popular.
“They basically played non-stop Crowded House and Splint Enz with some new material as well,” he said.
“All the artists had a great energy and passion that face audiences a terrific experience.”
Riverboats has been commended by patrons for not expanding too much.
“We had 6000 people over the course of the weekend and that capacity doesn’t change,” Mr Frazer said.
“Other promoters try and cram people in but we want people to have enough room for kids to run around and picnic rugs to be put out.
“I think this is an event that punches above its weight and we will continue to do research and deliver quality acts that draw people to Echuca.”
