Baldwin leapt 2.10m in a competition where Brandon Starc cleared 2.28m to strike gold at Carrara.
Athletics Bendigo’s athlete of the year for 2017, Baldwin is a member of the Bendigo Harriers and was one of four representatives from central Victoria at the national titles.
Bendigo University’s Andy Buchanan and South Bendigo’s Teleah Hayes competed in the 1500m and 5000m races, and Josh Savage played a key role as an official.
On the track, Hayes ran 16:48.22 in Friday night’s 5000m to be 12th overall in a final where New South Wales went one, two, three.
Hayes began her campaign in the 1500m heats.

The Paul Rance-coached athlete was 13th overall in the 1500m.
Buchanan – coached by Scott Westcott – achieved a time of 14:09.16 to be ninth in the 5000m, and ran 3:49.87 in the 1500m where he was 21st in the standings.
The four-day championships were qualifiers for the Commonwealth Games to be held from April 4 to 15 on the Gold Coast.
