UPDATE 11.30 am: Bendigo Fire Brigade senior station officer Tim Fitzgerald said an extraction fan from a pizza oven with dust had caused excess exhaust smoke.

“The heat from the fire and the smoke has ignited dust, the flue was dirty and the extraction fan had dust in it,” senior station officer Fitzgerald said.
“It has been baked and caused some smoke.”
EARLIER: Bendigo firefighters are responding to a reported building fire at the Bendigo Marketplace.
CFA members are on the roof and are concentrating their efforts around the Groove Train restaurant.
People have been evacuated.
