In the lead-up to 9am, traffic in White Hills was banked up along Holdsworth Road from White Hills Cemetery to Napier Street.
Meanwhile, people have reported that traffic on Barnard Street was at a standstill.
On the Bendigo Advertiser’s Facebook page, some readers said their commutes into work took an hour or more.
Road closures were put in place from 6am.
Most roads will reopen at 11am, but some – including Napier Street – will remain closed until the relay is over.
