UPDATE Monday 1.40pm: A woman is in a critical condition following a single-vehicle crash at Emu Creek on Sunday afternoon.
The woman, aged in her 70s, was the only occupant of a van that crashed into a tree on Storys Road, shortly after 3.30pm Sunday.
She was extricated from the vehicle by the SES, then airlifted to the Royal Melbourne Hospital.
UPDATE 6.15pm: A woman in her 70s has been flown to the Royal Melbourne Hospital in a serious condition following a crash at Emu Creek this afternoon.
The woman was travelling east on Storys Road in a Toyota HiAce van when it left the road and crashed into a tree.
Leading Senior Constable Steve Bice from Bendigo Highway Patrol said the woman was trapped for a short time before she was freed from the vehicle by the SES.
She was the only occupant of the vehicle.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
Leading Senior Constable Bice asks any witnesses to the crash to contact him at Bendigo police station on 5448 1300.
EARLIER: Emergency services are at the scene of a serious crash at Emu Creek that has left a woman in a critical condition.
The woman, believed to be aged in her 40s, will be airlifted to a Melbourne hospital after the vehicle she was in crashed into a tree at the intersection of Storys Road and Browns Lane.
She was trapped in her vehicle.
Emergency services received the call about 3.35pm.
