There will be more road closures this week as work continues on stage two of the Napier Street upgrade.

Access to Napier Street from Scott Street will close intermittently for three weeks starting Monday, February 12, with limited access for residents and a detour in place via Hall and Priest streets.

Bosquet Street will be inaccessible from Napier Street on Thursday.

Access to Hamelin Street from Napier Street remains closed on Monday, but will reopen Tuesday, February 13.

Work will also be under way along footpaths.

Closures will allow for utility relocation works and the construction of new concrete footpaths and kerbs.

Motorists are advised there will possibly be delays.

VicRoads says it has spoken to affected residents.

The $30.4 million upgrade of Napier Street will add a traffic lane in each direction along 2.7 kilometres of the road, stretching between Weeroona Avenue and Hall Street.

There will also be dedicated bike lanes, a median strip, new traffic lights,  a boulevard of trees and underground power lines.
