The appointment of Lennox, who had served as acting chairman since the December departure of Brendon Goddard, became official on February 1
Lennox has served on the BSL board since 1993 and is a current member of the Bendigo Basketball Association (BBA) board with his tenure of service recognized with life membership in 2012.
His appointment comes at a significant time for BSL with the $22-million stadium expansion project nearing completion that will see a 4000-seat arena opening this year at the West Bendigo site.
Lennox believes the next 12 months will be critical, highlighting the successful opening of the expanded facility and effective integration of WNBL team Bendigo Spirit within the BSL organisation as key areas of focus.
BSL CEO Nathan O’Neill said he was excited to be working alongside Lennox.
“He brings a wealth of experience and a proven ability to lead through change which will be vital during this period of transformation,” he said.
Reflecting on the recent organisational changes, Lennox said the board had focused on building a dynamic executive team, equipped with the skills and resources to deliver world class sport and entertainment experiences for the community.
“With the support of an experienced and knowledgeable board of directors, I am confident that BSL will continue to grow and become a truly admired organisation,” he said.
Lennox is the managing director of Birchgrove Accounting Pty Ltd and a La Trobe University graduate.
