The Bureau of Meteorology says this run of hot days broke the previous record of eight days, set in 2014.
January also gave Bendigo the most days above 35 degrees it has ever experienced, with 15 days topping that mark on the thermometer.
And the city recorded its highest-ever average January daily maximum temperature, which was 33.5 degrees: 0.6 degrees higher than the previous record of 2009, and 3.6 degrees higher than the long-term average.
Redesdale also had a record average January daily maximum temperature of 33.3 degrees.
The overall average temperatures in Bendigo and Redesdale last month set more records, being 2.8 and 2.7 degrees above the long-term average respectively.
Last month was the fourth-hottest January ever seen in Victoria and the hottest in 12 years.
Across Victoria, the mean maximum temperature was more than 3 degrees warmer than average, the highest January daytime temperature since 2001.
Nights were also warmer, with the overall mean minimum temperature the sixth-highest on record.
But rainfall across the state was down on the average by 16 per cent.
Bendigo received just 16.4 millimetres the whole month, while the monthly average for the city is 34.1 millimetres.
