Leg-spinner Cosgriff bagged six wickets as the Rams fell from 0-114 to all out for 184 inside 60 overs.
Openers Matt Dwyer (90) and Daniel Chamberlain (49) got the Rams away to a strong start with their 114-run opening stand, but wickets tumbled regularly for the rest of the innings once the partnership was broken.
Cosgriff picked up 6-65 off 20.1 overs in the Rams’ collapse, which started when captain Tom Wilson (2-54) had Chamberlain caught by keeper Scott Ross.
Cosgriff’s wickets included the dangerous Dwyer, who passed 50 for the sixth time this season, but is still to convert one of those half-centuries into a ton.
The Rams at one stage lost 4-1 in their innings as they slumped from 3-158 to 7-159, with Cosgriff snaring three of those wickets.
Cosgriff is the second Marong player to take a six-wicket haul this season, with Wilson having jagged 6-33 in round five against West Bendigo.
The Panthers have already lost two wickets in their run-chase, going to sumps at 2-35 off 11 overs.
• United’s James Smith claimed five wickets in the Tigers’ clash against Maiden Gully.
The Gully posted 229 after winning the toss, with Smith finishing with 5-23 off 13 overs for the Tigers.
Maiden Gully openers Rob Brown (72) and Alex Gorrie (60) both made half-centuries as they put on 122 for the first wicket.
Despite the solid start, Maiden Gully was unable to bat out its 75 overs after it was bowled out in the 69th.
Having one stage been 4-187, the Gully’s last six wickets fell for 42 runs.
Smith snared five of those last six wickets for the Tigers to take their bowling honours, while also doubling his tally of scalps for the season.
• Mandurang fought its way from 8-140 to post 243 against Spring Gully.
Batting at No.6, Rangas’ skipper James Pietromonaco proved a massive thorn in the side of the Crows with a career-high 87 for Mandurang.
Pietromonaco struck six fours and six sixes in his knock, while he was well supported by Darcy Radord (15), with the pair adding 88 for the ninth wicket as the Crows were unable to land the knockout blow.

James Fox (2-53), Jesse Marciano (2-30) and Rhys Webb (2-27) each took two wickets for the Crows, who ended the day at 0-18 in their chase.
• West Bendigo battled its way to 178 against Golden Gully after being sent in.
The Redbacks had been 6-96 before a steadying partnership for the seventh wicket between Tom Floyd (36) and Tarran Kilcullen (31).
Earlier, the competition’s leading run-scorer – Travis O’Connell – top-scored for the Redbacks with 42 to take his season tally to 624.
O’Connell has more than 400 more runs than the next best West Bendigo player, Ben Henson (180).
The match also featured the competition’s leading wicket-taker, Cobras’ captain Brad Webster.
Webster picked up another four wickets (4-65) to lift his aggregate for the season to 25.
The Cobras faced nine overs before stumps, reaching the close of play at 1-13.
