Huntly-North Epsom’s Russell De Groot last weekend completed the full set of centuries for clubs this season with 103 in the Power’s one-day loss to Golden Square.
The BDCA hasn’t had a season where all 10 clubs have had first XI players make centuries since the heavily drought-affected 2006-07 when there were a total of 42 tons made by 24 players.
When looking through the list of players to have made centuries this season, it’s clear the competition has been boosted by the inclusion of some star batsmen.
Of the 21 centuries that have already been scored by 14 batsmen, nine have been made by players who have joined the competition this year – Kyle Humphrys (three), the returning Jeremy Brown (two), De Groot, Jamie Dass and Nayana Palamandadige (two).
