Within the scam letter contained a brochure and two scratch cards from Track Your Holiday, a company supposedly registered to an address in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
A segment of the brochure reads:
“Track your Holiday has sent out close to 100,000 brochures throughout Asia Pacific. We have included two complimentary scratch cards and every participant will stand a chance to win fascinating prizes from our company and sponsors.”
The resident said it all looked “very elaborate”.
“They’re pretty shrewd to try and do something like this,” the resident said.
The brochure also contains information about potential holiday destinations for travellers and other information in an attempt to legitimise the fraudulent document.
The scratch cards prompt winners to send through further personal details, where it can be expected the sender will have their personal information compromised.
