Flack Advisory Bendigo Region is again strongly represented for the three-day meet at Llanberris Reserve in York Street.
South Bendigo will aim to reign supreme as Victoria Country’s number one club.
The reigning champions will face strong opposition from Eaglehawk, Bendigo Harriers, Geelong Guild and Wendouree in the race for the Margaret Saunders Cup.
The Ex Athletes Cup for leading women’s team is also held by South Bendigo.
Bendigo Harriers holds the David Kitt Memorial Trophy for number one men’s team.
Track competition on Friday will start at 9.30am, and field at 10.15am.
There will be an extended break on the Australia Day card from 1pm until 6.30pm.
Saturday’s program starts at 9am and includes the 100m (finals and timed finals).
The program will then break until 6.15pm when finals of the 1500m, 400m and the 10,000m will be run.
Field events start at 9am and conclude at 1pm on Saturday.
The evening field session will start at 4.30pm and conclude at 9.45pm.
Sunday’s track program starts at 9am when the 200m (finals and timed finals) will be followed by steeplechase, short hurdles and relays.
There are no changes to the Sunday field event timetable.
All track events will be run as a straight final or a timed final.
The 800m finals will be in lanes where there are 12 or less competitors, or on the 800m curve start where there are more than 12 athletes checked in for the final.
Field sizes for the 1500m will be determined at the discretion of the competition director, but where there are large numbers of entries, two timed finals can be run.
Athletes must check in for track events and will be asked to provide their seasons best performance on the check in sheet so that timed finals can be seeded.
Where timetable changes create a clash of events for athletes, all effort will be made to ensure that athletes can be accommodated.
