CFA District 2 operations officer Ashley Baker said units remained at the scene of the blaze, which has been declared safe.
As many as 20 units responded to the fire, with air support and assistance from Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning crews.

The fire started near Mount Alexander, on what Mr Baker said was some old farm land.

The burnt area was between 10 - 15 hectares.
Mr Baker said the cause of the fire was under investigation, but was not believed to have been suspicious.
