McBiddy Ball is designed to provide kids from four-years-old the year-round opportunity to learn fundamental basketball skills whilst having fun and being physically active in a social and friendly environment. Program ambassadors for this year are 2018 Braves players Tanner Rayner and Ahlise Hurst.
The pair started playing basketball at the age of 4 and have progressed through to SEABL and WNBL respectively.
They describe McBiddy Ball as a great starting point for every child to learn the basic of basketball while making new friends.
Owner-operator of McDonald’s restaurants in Bendigo, Stefan Wojciechowski said he was proud to be support grassroots sport.
He said the partnership reflected a commitment to supporting active lifestyles from a young age and demonstrated the value McDonalds places on giving back to the community.
BSL sales and marketing manager Katie Olesen said that the investment from McDonald’s Bendigo allowed fees to be kept affordable, ensuring all children have access to the McBiddy Ball program.
Running every Tuesday and Thursday of the school term, McBiddy Ball participants are coached by recognised Bendigo Braves and Bendigo Spirit players.
The term one program starts on Tuesday, February 6, and runs from 4:15pm–5:00pm. Registrations are open now on the Bendigo Basketball website or at the Bendigo Stadium sports office.
