Senior station officer Paul Caligari said the fire took about 25 to 30 minutes to bring under control, with about 50 firefighters from Bendigo, Eaglehawk and Golden Square at the scene.
Mr Caligari said a couple of hundred pallets, a shipping container holding chemicals such as paint thinners, and two gas bottles were affected by the blaze on the lot of transportation company Power’s Country Express.
The fire also spread into a neighbouring paddock, but Mr Caligari said the fire plugs on the street had been well-maintained, saving the fire from causing even more damage.
Mr Caligari said the cause of the fire was under investigation.
The fire sent plumes of black smoke high into the air, which could be seen across Bendigo.

A smoke warning has been issued and the CFA is asking people to remain alert, though no threats to health were expected.
The smoke was drifting in a southerly direction towards Strathdale, the warning read.
