Malmsbury Cricket Ground, Kyneton’s Barkly Square, Gisborne’s Gardiner Reserve and the Gisborne Tennis Club will all receive $100,000 for improvements.
Change rooms will be the subject of the upgrades at Gardiner Reserve, which was among more than 100 recipients of the government’s Female Friendly Facilities Fund.
New practice nets will be among the improvements at Malmsbury Cricket Ground, while new pitch lighting will be the subject of funding for Barkly Square.
Gisborne Tennis Club will use the funding to upgrade two courts to synthetic clay and install court lighting.
“Women deserve the same opportunities as men, and with record numbers of women and girls signing up to play local sport, we’re making sure our facilities are up to scratch,” Minister for Sport, John Eren, said.
