1. Kyle Chant (Golden Square): was part of the strong off-season recruiting spree by Square in its centenary season and has wasted no time proving a valuable acquisition at Wade Street.
Played the first game of the season in the seconds, scoring 96, but in six innings opening in the first XI has been dismissed for less than 33 just once and is boasting a healthy average of 57.2.
Runs – 286. Avg – 57.2.
MVP points – 336 (27th).

2. Shane Koop (Bendigo): the Goers’ captain-coach has the dual position of opening batsman and wicket-keeper in the team.
Has combined 310 runs at an average of more than 50 with 15 dismissals behind the stumps – nine catches and six stumpings – but more importantly for him, he has his surprise-packet side positioned in the top four.
Runs – 310. Avg – 51.6.
MVP points – 490 (8th).

3. Nayana Palamandadidge (Sandhurst): the Sri Lankan import has had no problems settling into Bendigo cricket in the Dragons’ top order.
Has batted seven times and in more than half his innings has raised his bat with four scores above 50, including a one-day century against Kangaroo Flat in round seven.
Runs – 368. Avg – 61.3.
MVP points – 393 (17th).
………………………………….
4. Jeremy Brown (Eaglehawk): started the season slowly with just 29 runs from his first three innings, which mirrored the Hawks’ sluggish first three rounds.
Yet the fact the star left-hander is now averaging 77.3 and is the competition’s leading run-scorer highlights just how damaging his past four innings have been in which he has made 435 runs, which includes two scores of 215 and 150.
Runs – 464. Avg – 77.3.
MVP points – 494 (6th).
………………………………….
5. Kyle Humphrys (Bendigo): the recruit from Warrnambool has wasted no time making his mark on the competition with both bat and ball.
Already has 399 runs and 21 wickets with his off-spin, with the question not is he currently leading the Cricketer of the Year Award, but how far out in front is he?
Has a massive buffer of 208 points in the Addy’s MVP rankings.
Runs – 399. Avg – 57.0.
Wickets – 21. Avg – 18.6.
MVP points – 849 (1st).
………………………………….
6. Ben Devanny (Strathfieldsaye): back-to-back centuries in rounds two and three (116 n.o. and 111) have helped the Jets’ skipper to the 400-run mark.
During those two century knocks in which he made a total of 227 runs against White Hills and Strathdale, his team-mates combined for just 216.
Only Jeremy Brown has made more runs so far, while Devanny has also chipped in with eight wickets.
Runs – 400. Avg – 57.1.
Wickets – 8. Avg – 37.8.
MVP points – 560 (3rd).

………………………………….
7. Dylan Gibson (Kangaroo Flat): another of the players who already has two tons this season and is again proving to be the key wicket for the Roos.
Scored 102 against his former side Sandhurst in his first hit of the season and also cracked 111 against Eaglehawk at the QEO – although his century-making efforts were to no avail, with both tons coming in defeats.
Runs – 310. Avg – 51.6.
Wickets – 2. Avg – 84.5.
MVP points – 360 (23rd).
………………………………….
8. Cameron Taylor (Strathdale): hasn’t been at his best with the bat so far this season, but has been damaging with the ball.
The leg-spinner is the competition’s leading wicket-taker with 24, which includes the season’s best figures of 8-55 against Strathfieldsaye in round three.
Has had a heavy workload with 179 overs bowled – the next most in the competition is the 141 by Kyle Humphrys.
Runs – 161. Avg – 23.0.
Wickets – 24. Avg – 18.0.
MVP points – 641 (2nd).
………………………………….
9. Craig Howard (Sandhurst): the veteran is a familiar face in a Team of the Year and is again high in the Addy MVP rankings for his combination of 17 wickets and 198 runs.
Another spinner in the team, but it has been that sort of a season where tweakers have been the most dominant players with the ball.
Runs – 198. Avg – 33.0.
Wickets – 17. Avg – 16.0.
MVP points – 538 (4th).
………………………………….
10. Sam Johnston (Strathdale): one of only two non-spinners in the competition to have taken at least 15 wickets.
Despite missing round seven against Huntly-North, he has 15 scalps for the season and is also averaging more than 30 with the bat for the ladder-leaders.
Runs – 151. Avg – 30.2.
Wickets – 15. Avg – 20.5.
MVP points – 491 (7th).
………………………………….
11. Brent Hamblin (Kangaroo Flat): the leading paceman in the competition with 16 wickets, which includes a hat-trick against Huntly-North Epsom and scalps in every game he has played.
Has been no slouch with the bat either with an average of more than 50.
Runs – 157. Avg – 52.3.
Wickets – 16. Avg – 18.1.
MVP points – 507 (5th).
