Market manager Chris Hain said he expected the market to be quite busy.
“We have got some very loyal shoppers and expect January to go well. We will be busy in terms of the number of stalls showing produce,” he said.
“We had some great markets in November and December and are again working hard to promote local food.”
Mr Hain said the market was becoming the best place for people to come where they know where food was grown, who grew it and how it was produced.
“We have been here for eight years and had to build a following,” he said.
“Early on we had to establish relationships with producers but have built a loyal following that has extended into the central Victoria region. With Bendigo being a tourist town, we attract lots of visitors as well as a lot of locals.”
The market is on Saturday from 9am at Sidney Myer Place, Bendigo.
