Woman freed after car crash at Newstead

UPDATE, 4.20pm: The woman is being loaded into the air ambulance.

UPDATE, 3.40pm: The woman, aged in her 50s, has been freed from the car.

Ambulance Victoria said she has been assessed and has arm and neck injuries.

An air ambulance has been dispatched to the scene.

EARLIER: A woman is trapped after her crashed into a tree near Newstead.

The crash occurred at about 2.45pm in Mia Mia Road.

Emergency services are on their way to the scene.

An Ambulance Victoria spokeswoman said the age and condition of the trapped woman was unknown at this stage.

The spokeswoman also said there were reports of another person who had crawled from the car and was walking around.

Two CFA vehicles and an SES crew are also on scene.
