Big guns in Maryborough Gift

Previous winners Matt Carter, Matthew Eddy, Cam Dunbar and Daniel Steinhauser are among the entries for Monday’s Max Martin Memorial Maryborough Gift at Princes Park.

Carter, who will chase a third Gift title after winning it back-to-back in 2010-11, will race off a handicap of three metres.

Dunbar and Eddy have handicaps of 8m, while Steinahuser will race off 9m.

The heats of the Maryborough Gift start at 1.40pm, with the two semi-finals at 2.40pm and the final scheduled for 5pm.

Molly Farmer will attempt to defend her crown in the Maryborough Women’s Gift.

The South Australian stormed home to win the 2017 final off 6m and will race off 5.75m on Monday.

The final of the women’s sprint is scheduled for 2.05pm.

The action at Princes Park kicks off at 10am with the heats of 70m open sprint.

The final race is the under-20 400m at 7.05pm.
