Waterman has made a splash as a new school holiday program begins at the Discovery Science and Technology Centre.

The caped crusader, who some say is also known as science communicator David Holmes, wants to show children the amazing power of water.

Waterman’s demonstrations include glass balls that disappear, balloons that do not pop and powders that soak up liquid in less than a moment.

He is not the only person sharing water’s incredible and surprising properties. Volunteers are also on hand to show children the Newtonian principles behind boats powered by nothing but the seas they sail on.

Discovery Centre general manager Jonathan Ridnell said science educators chose a new theme for every school holiday period, this time selecting “splish splash”.

“We expect between 3,500 and 4,000 children over the five weeks of summer holidays,” he said.
