Northern Rivers proved too strong for North East Country in their Twenty20 match, winning by 11 runs.
Northern Rivers scored 7-123 batting first, which featured 33 off 32 from opener Braydon Vaz of Golden Square.
Vaz and captain Izac Artavilla (50 n.o.) shared in an opening stand of 51.
Kangaroo Flat’s Ryan O’Keefe made eight batting at No.3, while Strathfieldsaye’s Abe Sheahan scored three.
North East Country was bowled out for 112 in reply, with Vaz capping a solid all-round game by claiming 2-24 off four overs.
In Wednesday’s other game played in Bendigo, the Western Waves defeated Mallee Murray at the QEO.
The Waves blasted 3-184 batting first before restricting Mallee Murray – which defeated Northern Rivers on Tuesday – to 8-79.
Northern Rivers’ next game will be against the Western Waves at Carlton’s Princes Park on January 15.
