The state government has released a request for tender for the $15.8 million upgrades of Bendigo and Eaglehawk stations.
Plans show a ramp adjoining the new overpass at Bendigo, which includes disability access lifts, will not impact the bowling club.
Member for Bendigo East Jacinta Allan said they would work with the community as the project progressed.
“We will continue to work closely with the local community as we deliver these upgrades that will improve safety and access, for both residents and visitors to our city,” she said.
Preliminary plans showed a ramp could have taken away a portion of the Bendigo VRI Bowling Club, including parts of a car park and its second bowling green.
The club lobbied VicTrack and Ms Allan for an assurance that it would not be impacted.
President Don Robertson said it was pleasing that the local member had listened to their concerns.
In addition to the new overpass, the upgrade will include improvements to the waiting area, toilets and customer services areas.
At Eaglehawk station, the platform will be extended and a 60-space car park will be built.
The plans were developed after several community feedback sessions attended by 80 local residents, businesses and commuters.
The works will be complete in 2019.
