As the mercury rose across central Victoria on Monday some Bendigonians knew the best places to beat the heat and stay cool.
Bendigo Advertiser photographer Noni Hyett captured the action at the Bendigo Aquatic Centre and Cold Rock ice-creamy, while the temperature rose past 34 degrees.
Central Victoria is set for another day of high heat on Tuesday, with forecast temperatures in the mid-to-high 30s. Bendigo is headed for a top of 36 degrees.
A day of severe fire danger is forecast and it has been declared a day of total fire ban across the northern part of the state.
But it doesn’t end there – a cool change is due to sweep through the region, with the potential for damaging winds, large hail and heavy rainfall.
