The City of Greater Bendigo is calling for expressions of interest with the selected work to be displayed for approximately two years and used to market and promote the centre.
The successful artist will also receive $2500 and will be profiled on the Bendigo Tourism website.
Visitor Services Manager Nicole Pretty said more than 100,000 people come through the visitor centre each year.
“It’s a great opportunity to have your work seen by a large number of people,” she said. “Bendigo is a creative city and the visitor centre is often the first stop on a visitor’s arrival to Bendigo, so it will be a good introduction to what we have to offer.”
