The City of Greater Bendigo Brass, the Bendigo Youth Performing Choir and the Axedale Primary School Choir were among those to lend their skills to Bendigo’s Carols by Candlelight.
The sultry weather added to the ambiance of the event.
It was 27 degrees in Bendigo at 6pm, when the carols started.
Attendees dressed in their Christmas best, despite the heat.
People seized the opportunity to sing along to festive favourites like Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer and Joy To The World.
And what better way to close out the evening than with a rendition of We Wish You A Merry Christmas?
For some, the memories formed at the Rotary Club of Bendigo’s 47th annual Community Carols by Candlelight added to many years worth of fond recollections.
Others were experiencing the event for the first time.
By making a gold coin donation upon admission, attendees helped raise support for the UnitingCare Christmas appeal.
EARLIER: GET set for a not-so-silent night as the city embraces its festive spirit.
From 6.30pm today, Rosalind Park will be filled with the sound of Christmas carols.
Carols by Candlelight will continue until 10pm and will showcase the talents of a range of local performers.

It’s a warm night for it, with the temperature in Bendigo recorded just below 28 degrees at 6pm.
