Umpires award up to 10 votes to each team at the completion of each first XI, second XI, third XI and under-18 match. Each team is assessed on their respect for umpires, co-operation with umpires, captains co-operation, respect for opposition and general conduct. At the completion of each round the points for each club are added together and divided by four to give the club its rating.
