For students who have applied for tertiary study through VTAC and paid their processing fee, printed ATAR statements will begin arriving in the mail from Monday, December 18.
Of the 47,450 VCE students to receive an ATAR, 36 have an ATAR of 99.95.
The average ATAR across all students iss 65.10, with an average of 66.25 for females and 63.70 for males.
“It is important that students remember, that the ATAR is simply one of many factors such as interviews, folios, auditions or tests, and special consideration schemes used for tertiary selection by universities, TAFE institutes and private colleges,” VTAC director Catherine Wills said.
“The ATAR doesn’t define a person, it is simply one of many tools used in selecting students for courses”.
Students are advised to consider their course preferences and make any changes through the VTAC change of preference process.
Preferences should be listed in the order that they want to get into a course, not the order they think they will get into them, even if they do not think their ATAR is high enough.
VTAC change of preference for international VCE students will close at 4pm on Friday.
For all other VCE students, VTAC change of preference will close at noon Wednesday, December 20.
The final payment deadline for unpaid VTAC processing fees is Monday, December 18.
Unpaid applicants will not be eligible for offers.
