The 25-year-old, who is averaging 2.53 points per game and 1.53 rebounds per game in her back-up role with the Spirit this season, initially joined the Rush at the completion of her debut WNBL season in 2015-16.
Spencer finished second in scoring for the Rush last season and averaged a SEABL career high 17.9 points and 5.8 rebounds.
While the Spirit have continued to struggle this WNBL season, Spencer produced a break-out game against Townsville Fire last week and finished with 12 points off the bench.
“Although we are not winning as many games as we would like, I am making the most of every opportunity, we are training hard and getting better and I look forward to carrying this over to the Rush season,” she said.
The former South Australian said she was looking forward to her first season under new Rush coach and Ballarat Miners legend Eric Hayes.
Likewise, Hayes was keen to see what Spencer could produce following her third WNBL campaign.
“Last season I got to see bits and piece of the Rush games and notice the improvement of Splash from her first season here in Ballarat and with another WNBL season under her she will only come back stronger which is great for us,” he said.
The Rush have also re-signed former Spirit development players Molly Mathews and Lydia Brooks.
Home-grown product Mathews will line up for her sixth season with the Rush, who narrowly missed the finals last season under former coach and Bendigo Braves legend Dave Flint.
Ballarat has also contracted former Spirit import Joy Burke for a third season.
