Bendigo proved too strong at home for Castlemaine, winning 97-76 on Saturday.
Bendigo had three winning rinks, with the standout performance that of Torie Babitsch’s.
Babitsch’s rink had a 26-12 victory over Daren Taylor, while Ian Ross (+6) and Nick Belt (+6) were also winning skippers for Bendigo.
Bendigo picking up a much-needed 16 points for the day came on the back of it having scored just 15 over the first six rounds.
• Eaglehawk has now beaten every opponent to get to the halfway mark of the season undefeated.
The Hawks maintained their unblemished record with a tight 94-90 victory at home over Kangaroo Flat.
The Hawks won the game, despite having only Tony Ellis as a winning skipper.
Ellis defeated Tom Russell 26-14, with the other three rinks featuring two wins to Kangaroo Flat – Barry Anset (+7) and Cameron Wilson (+1) – and a 23-all tie between the Hawks’ Dean Carter and Paul Moller.

The win continues an unbeaten run for Eaglehawk against Kangaroo Flat that stretches back to the 2009-10 season.
With a 7-0 record, Eaglehawk – which increased its buffer at the top to 39 points – has already won as many games as it did last season.
• Bendigo East bounced back strongly with a win over South Bendigo.
A week after copping a 65-shot belting off Castlemaine the Beasties inflicted South Bendigo’s third loss in a row – all by double figures.
The Beasties – who had lost their previous three games – prevailed 98-81.

The Beasties’ win featured a strong performance from the rink of Brad Marron, which had a commanding 27-11 victory over South’s top rink this season, Liam Crapper, which includes Marron’s father, Paul, as lead giving the contest some added family rivalry.
Chris Randell (+4) and Aaron Tomkins (+5) were other winning rinks for Bendigo East.
• Inglewood is sitting in the top four at the halfway mark of the season after its 20-shot win at home over Golden Square.
The Woods’ 102-82 victory was their third in a row and elevated them from fifth to fourth.
The rink of Inglewood’s Rob Day had the biggest win of the game with a 14-shot victory over Tas Wallis.
