The semi-trailer, carrying grain, was travelling east on the Bendigo-Pyramid Road when the driver ran into a bridge about two kilometres west of the town.
The driver lost control of the vehicle and it tipped, spilling grain.
Sergeant Shane Walker said “amazingly” the semi-trailer avoided crashing into the channel and the 37-year-old driver made it out without injury, adding police often expected such incidents to result in a fatality.
The CFA attended the scene to wash the road and Loddon Shire Council is completing a clean-up, but the semi-trailer is clear of the road and the road is open to traffic.
