Police were called to the Stella Anderson nursing home in North Bendigo after the Holden sedan crashed into the building about 6am.
A man was inside the room at the time of the collision but was uninjured.
Senior Constable Britney Mueck said the car had left the road in the nearby Green Street, crashed through two fences and down a brick retaining wall before colliding with the building.
When police arrived, no driver was found at the scene.
A crane will be brought in to remove the car, which had green P-plates displayed in the windows.
Senior Constable Mueck said police believed alcohol could be a factor in the crash.
