In the first reported incident, a person walking along Mitchell Street about midnight was approached by three people armed with knives.
They made demands for property, but none was handed over and the victim was uninjured.
Another similar incident was later reported in Short Street, where a person was again approached by three people who produced weapons and demanded property.
The offenders fled and two were apprehended by police near Bendigo Creek; another was apprehended later.
EARLIER: Bendigo police have three people in custody in relation to two attempted armed robberies.
The attempted robberies took place in the Bendigo CBD.
Police have not released any further details at this time.
