Police were called to the area just before 8pm with reports up to five people were involved in a fight.
Sergeant Jason Hawke said the groups had dispersed by the time police arrived, but they spoke to a man and woman who were believed to be involved.
He said the woman attempted to run from the scene from the Mitchell Street bus stop area while they were speaking to police and she was tackled to the ground by multiple officers on Hargreaves Street.
Police then discovered the man and woman had outstanding warrants for their arrest and both were taken into custody.
Sergeant Hawke said there were no injuries from the brawl.
More than five police units were required to attend.
