Stars now adorn the Bendigo Bank Central building at the corner of Mitchell and High streets, opposite the fountain, with decorations also being installed in the Fountain Court shopping centre this week.
The City of Greater Bendigo will begin its installation program mid-next week with new decorations to feature across the region, including in Bendigo, Eaglehawk, Elmore and Heathcote.
Tourism and major events manager Terry Karamaloudis said the city was always looking at ways to grow its collection.
“There will be good old favourites in among some new decorations the city has purchased,” he said.
“There will be lots of colour around the municipality.”
All decorations will be in place in time for the lighting of the Rosalind Park Christmas tree, to be held on December 1 this year.
A new feature in the annual tradition will be a free Christmas movie screening on a large screen in the park, before the lighting of the tree.
