Junior swimmers making a splash

Central Victoria’s swimming squad finished fourth in the Swimming Victoria Country 7-10 Encouragement Competition at MSAC. 

Pitted against the best seven to 10-year-olds across regional Victoria, the squad of 35 produced some stellar performances.

Standout male swimmers for the CV squad were Bendigo East’s Nicholas Kearns and Echuca’s Angus Watson. Kearns won silver in the backstroke and bronze in the freestyle, while Watson won bronze in the freestyle. In the girls division, Bendigo East’s April Downing stood out, grabbing gold in butterfly and silver in backstroke.

Medal winners in relays for Central Victoria were: Charlotte Matthews, Zara Paul, Mia O’Keefe, Mila Tzaros, Lacy Wilkie, Tess Kelly, Aysha Masood, Zoe Cail, Eloise Kealy, April Downing, Tayla O’Connell, Ashlyn Bird, Trea Harkin, Riley Sterenberg, Mila Tzaros, Zara Paul, Tadhg Hughan, Fraser Allen, Angus Watson, Charlie Conroy.
