Premier League powers ready for battle

THE showdown between Spring Gully Words and Pictures Photography and BTC Cobras highlights Saturday’s sixth round in the Bendigo Tennis premier league season.

Both line-ups are in fine form going into this match to be played from 1pm at the William Loud tennis complex in Nolan Street.

The second-placed Cobras scored a hard-fought win against Spring Gully Strath Eppalock Butterflies under lights last Friday.

Words and Pictures played brilliant tennis to beat BTC Taipans by 24 games.

After breaking its season duck last week, BTC Growl Weightlifting takes on the unbeaten South Bendigo.

Weightlifting’s charge to victory against Castlemaine was led by Eliza Long.

A BTC squad that includes Baxter Symons, Sam Storer and Alex Neave faces a team that is led superbly by Jordan Hicks, Connor Gledhill and Grant Leader.

Butterflies will be determined to return to the winners’ circle against a Castlemaine line-up which has not won since the opening round.

The third-placed Strathfieldsaye is on the rebound after it won just one rubber against  South Bendigo.

BTC Taipans is craving more consistency in matches.

Premier League standings:
