Local artist Terry Jarvis has been a visiting artist at the school, and students have been painting plenty of watercolours in his workshops.
“Kids experience themselves in different ways… Art gives them an opportunity to be imaginative and creative, rather than learning through watching… It’s a real hands-on way of learning,” visual art teacher Adrienne Stokes said.
Mrs Stokes said the show represented a big group effort from the children and they were “really proud” of their work.
The art show will be open at the school from 4.30pm to 7.30pm Friday night, with entry by gold coin donation.
