The Giants' unveiled Eyles as their international recruit ahead of the 2018 Australian Netball League season after the New Zealander crossed the ditch to be with her long-term partner.

Flyhalf Hawera joined the Brumbies this season to replace the sidelined Christian Lealifanno and impressed after starting every game in his rookie campaign.

Hawera led the Brumbies to the Australian conference title and a home quarterfinal, before earning a two-year contract extension which saw Eyles cross the ditch.

"It's pretty cool to be here after doing long distance, it will be nice to come home to someone if you had a bad day at training and can just to talk to them about it," Eyles said.

"We missed that quite a lot this year so it will be nice being together as the season goes and I'm really looking forward to living in Canberra."

Eyles was playing in the New Zealand domestic competition before the move and the 25-year-old said she's looking forward to testing herself against new opposition and pushing for a spot in the Australian top flight, Super Netball.

"I'm not too sure what to expect, I've heard the ANL is really hard compared to New Zealand, so I'm really keen to learn the Aussie style and how they play here," Eyles said.

"I think most girls playing in the ANL that Super Netball would be the end goal and they're hoping for and I'm the same.

"I'm really excited for the season, it doesn't start until May but it couldn't come any sooner, hopefully the Giants win the netball and the Brumbies win the rugby."

Coach Sharyn Hill led the Giants to a third place finish in their inaugural campaign this year and has picked four Canberrans in her 2018 squad.

"Last season we had three and this year we have four, so it's a good representation there and good opportunity for those girls to keep pushing along that pathway," Hill said.

"There has been a fair amount of turnover but that's just the nature of the game these days, girls go where there are opportunities and different opportunities open and close at franchises depending on that movement.

"We've got a core of familiar faces we've gained some really good international talent and interstate experience, it's hard to compare but I'd say we've definitely made gains on last season."

ACT players will train in Canberra throughout the week alongside the Giants development squad before joining their NSW teammates for sessions in Sydney in the lead up to the ANL season.
