Bendigo Constable James Ludeman said the first assault occurred at Castlemaine Railway Station about 3.40pm on Friday.
“The victim was assaulted by a teenage male,” he said.
Both the victim and the alleged offender then boarded a V/Line train to Bendigo.
Police believe the victim was assaulted a second time by the same teenage male, about 3.56pm, while they were on the train.
Constable Ludeman said the victim was punched in the face in both instances.
“The victim received medical attention as a result of the assaults,” he said.
He urged anyone who witnessed any of these assaults to contact him at the Bendigo Police Station by calling 5448 1300.
